Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house using a combined gross home earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home money will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households nsfas application with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and nsfas check not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply nsfas application for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
